Reports - MSD Monthly & Quarterly (NZ)

The Monthly Ministry of Social Development (MSD) Report is concerned with residents in Emergency Housing, and the Quarterly Report is for Vacant Untenantable rooms in a quarterly period. This solution details:


Setting up the reports for your organisation

Before running either report the first time, you will need to download both templates that are attached to the bottom of this solution, and paste them in your Chintaro\Data\Templates folder. This only needs to be done one, by 1 user.


To set the Monthly report for your organisation, open the template called MSDMonthly.xlsx by double clicking and the blank template will open. 


Enter your Provider's name and Contact Reference Number (CRN). Do not enter the Report Period Chintaro will do this for you when you create the report.

Click Save and close the report. 


Repeat for the Quarterly template called MSDQuarterlyUnavailibility.xlsx.


Running the Monthly MSD Report

To run the Monthly report, from the Home screen, click Reports and Exports > NZ Reports > MSD Reporting > MSD Monthly Report. The MSD Report screen will open:


Enter the Start Date and the End Date of the report in the applicable boxes. 


Select an Output Folder as the location you would like to save the report to.


Change the Report Filename if required. NOTE: If you have the Append Date to Filenames box ticked, the report will be created with the date of the report in the name, eg: 


Select the Program(s) you would like to include in the report by clicking their names. If you want to include all Programs, you do not need to select any - it will populate with all.


Click Create Report.


Chintaro will open Excel and begin populating your report. Once complete, a message will appear in Chintaro to advise the report was created successfully:



Where does the data in the MSD Monthly Report come from?

If there is data missing from cells in your Monthly MSD Report, check the following table to see where the information is populated from, and how to update these fields in Chintaro:

To run the Quarterly report, from the Home screen, click Reports and Exports > NZ Reports > MSD Reporting > MSD Quarterly Report. The MSD Report screen will open:
