What Happened to Chintaro's Email Bulk Statements Function?

You may have noticed that as of recently, the Email Bulk Statements function in Chintaro has been disabled. The reason for this is that in two separate instances, an error occurred in the process which caused each statement to be sent to the wrong person, with each receiving the statement meant for the one before them in the list. 

We treat any breach of privacy with the utmost gravity. After the first incident, it appeared to be a totally isolated case, the first time in almost 2 decades of Email Bulk Statements that anything like this had happened to anyone. We investigated to a significant extent in hopes of rooting out the problem, but it wasn't until the second incident that it became clear this wasn't just a fluke, and we had no choice but to suspend the function until we could figure out what was going on.

That's where things stand at this stage. It's still not clear to us why after all this time such a problem started occurring, but we absolutely can't risk such a thing happening again. We're currently working on developing a secure, safe alternative that's as convenient as the old function was, and we'll keep you all updated on our progress.

We appreciate that for many of our users, being able to Email Statements in Bulk to Tenants is a vital time-saving feature of Chintaro, and the alternative could be too time-consuming to work into your day-to-day schedule. Our Support team will be able to send statements for you until the replacement is ready. Just let us know which statements you want to send, who to send them to, and the date range.
