AHO New Market Rent Policy Templates

The AHO has created new templates for the purpose of communication around new market rent policy changes. These templates will speed up and simplify the process of informing tenants of these changes. 

If you are an Aboriginal Community Housing Provider and a Chintaro Cloud user, your database has been updated with these templates already.

Fields in these templates draw from the Property Market Rent Review screen, which will be used to implement the changes.

Templates explained:

AHO Tenant letter - Implementation advice

This letter can be used by ACHPs to advise tenants that a new rent policy is being implemented. This policy determines rents in a new way which is based on household income. It provides a summary of who is eligible for a rent subsidy, how the ACHP will be implementing the change, and where to find more information.

AHO Subsidy Letter One

This letter can be used by ACHPs to advise tenants that a rent subsidy review is being undertaken. The letter outlines what the tenant need to do, provide and by when.

AHO Subsidy Letter Two Info not Received

This letter can be used by ACHPs in situations where a tenant has not responded or returned their rental subsidy application form. This letter grants the tenant additional time to response to your request. ACHPs are encouraged to make all reasonable attempts to obtain the required information from the tenant.

AHO Subsidy Letter Three Cancel a Subsidy

This letter can be used by ACHPs in situations where a tenant has not responded or returned their rental subsidy application form. This letter grants the tenant additional time to response to your request. ACHPs are encouraged to make all reasonable attempts to obtain the required information from the tenant.

AHO MR Tenants Receiving a Rent Subsidy

This letter can be used by ACHPs for tenants who are in receipt of a rent subsidy. The letter advises the tenants of the new market rent charge.  Generally, tenants who receive a rent subsidy will not be impacted by a market rent increase unless there has been a change in their household income or compliment.

AHO MR Tenants on Market Rent

This letter can be used by ACHPs for tenants who currently pay market rent. The letter informs the tenant of their new market rent charge, the effective date for the new rent and their right to dispute the increase if they believe the new market rent charge is excessive.

AHO Market Rent Implementation

This letter can be used by ACHPs who do not currently use market rent as the lease rent amount or if the ACHPs conducts its annual market rent review at the same time as one of its rent subsidy review.
