Reconciling your Chintaro Bank Account with your actual Bank Account requires a one off transaction to be added as an opening balance in Chintaro, so that the transactions imported match with what shows in your bank.
This solution details:
Adding the One Off Bank Account Opening Balance
To make sure the Running Balance on your Chintaro report matches that on your Bank statement, you will need to enter a one off Opening Balance account into each of your Chintaro Bank Accounts.
From the Home screen, click Finance, then click Bank Functions and select Manual Bank Processing.
Choose the Bank Account, and then enter one transaction with:
Column | Description |
Date | The date should be the date before your bank transactions start in Chintaro |
Amount | The amount should be the amount in your bank account the day before your bank transactions start in Chintaro. Enter a Positive number for a Credit balance and a negative number for a Debit balance |
Description | Enter Opening Balance in the Description |
Tenancy | Select *Not a Rent Payment* in the Tenancy dropdown |
Once you have entered the line, you can click Generate Payments and Transfer To Bank Account.
Your running balance on your Chintaro Bank Statement should now match the one on your real Bank Statement.
Running the Bank Statement Report for reconciling
From the Home screen, click Reports and Exports, then Reports, click Finance and select the Bank Statement (Date Range):
Select the Bank Account and the Date Range you want at the bottom of the screen and click either Preview or Print. The report prints out your Chintaro Bank transactions in a bank Statement format which you can compare with your real Bank Statement.
