System Maintenance - Restricting Access to specific Reference Tables

Modified on Tue, 06 Sep 2022 at 01:20 PM

Chintaro has up to 9 levels of security that your organisation can set to define which user roles have access to each aspect of Chintaro (EG Menus, screens, buttons on screens etc).  One of the security functions allows user roles to change Reference Tables, but not others. An example of this is if you would like to allow a Level 3 user access to change the Tags Reference Table, but not the Transaction Type Reference Table.

This solution details:

Controlling access to which Reference Tables a User Role can change

To be able to change Reference Table data, the user must have access to:

  1. System Maintenance Menu
  2. Reference Table screen

If you're unsure how to allow access to both of these screens, please see the solution: System Maintenance - Restricting access to menu/screens

To determine which Reference Tables a user can change, from the Home screen, click System Maintenance, then Security and select the Maintenance button:

Column NameDescriptionImage
Maintenance OptionsEach row is a different Reference Table that you can provide or restrict access to. If you allow the user role (below) to change the data within the Reference Table, ensure the tick is on for that number. If you wish to restrict access and not allow the user to change the data within the table, untick the corresponding box.
Column 9The columns with the tick boxes in the correspond with the User Roles in the User Maintenance Tab.

Column 1 is Level 1 access, Column 2 is Level 2 access, etc. The names of the User Roles may differ in your Organisation, but the User Role at the top is level 1, and the System Administrator is the highest level of access at level 9 (Admin only access only allows access to the Current Users screen).
