This solution details how to change a Tenant's Start Date. Caution should be taken when making these changes as it has the potential to lead to inaccuracy in the Tenant's Balance if all steps are not followed.
- Open the Tenant profile you'd like to change.
- If the Tenant has any existing Rent Charges you will need to remove them first, as the Tenancy Start Date and first Rent Charge dates will not match after adjusting the Start Date. This solution details how to buffer Rent Charges - Transfer Transaction to the Buffer Account
- Double click the words Tenancy Start Date:
- Click 'OK' to the warning message.
- You can now edit the date manually by typing or using the pop out calendar. You do not need to change the Rent Charged To date, as it will adjust automatically.
- Exit out of the Tenancy to save the changes and the Tenancy Start Date changes will be complete. If Rent Charges were removed in Step 1, they can now be recharged starting from the correct Tenancy Start Date - Tenancy Screen - Generating Rent
