Note: This solution is for Access users only. If your organisation is using the SQL version of Chintaro, this will not be relevant to you.

If you are trying to open Chintaro and you get the error message 'You do not have the necessary permissions to use the 'C:\Chintaro\Chintaro.mdb' object, you are trying to open the Chintaro the wrong way:

Press OK to this message and close MS Access.

To open Chintaro, double click on the Chintaro Icon on your Desktop:

or, if you do not have a Chintaro icon on your Desktop, go to your C:\Chintaro folder, and double click on the Shortcut icon:

If you're certain that you're accessing Chintaro correctly (via the shortcut on your desktop or in the C:\Chintaro directory), then you will need to replace the code file:

Ask all users to log off Chintaro. Go to a PC with Chintaro working, and navigate to the C:\Chintaro folder. Copy the chintaro.mdb file:

Copy this file to somewhere on your network EG: Z:\Chintaro\Client Folder

Go back to the PC that has the corrupt version of the code, and find the place you saved the chintaro.mdb file from the working PC.

Copy this file, and navigate to your C:\Chintaro folder. Right click and select 'Paste'. Click 'Copy and Replace' or 'Replace the file in the destination':

Launch Chintaro. It may take a bit longer than usual to open the first time you open, but the error message will be gone.
