I've been asked for a screenshot

If you have a problem that you need Chintaro Support to assist you with, we will usually ask you to take a screenshot of the screen you are having the issue with. We must see a screenshot of the issue so we can identify what has gone wrong, and a screenshot will provide us the necessary information to help us resolve your issue as quickly as possible.

Taking a screenshot from the Microsoft Snipping Tool

The easiest way to create a screenshot is by using the Microsoft Snipping Tool. This tool can be used to capture part or all of your PC screen. Click here to view how to access the Microsoft Snipping Tool in your version of Windows and full instructions to use it.

Once you have taken a screenshot using the snipping tool, you can write or draw on or around your image to redact personal or confidential information by selecting the Pen or Highlighter buttons (found in Tools tab).

Select Eraser to remove the lines you've drawn. After information has been redacted, copy the image and paste it in an email with an explanation the problem you're having and send to Chintaro Support: support@chintaro.com.au.

Taking a screenshot from your keyboard

Press the Print Screen button on your keyboard. This will capture an image of your entire screen (or screens if you have multiple).
The Print Screen button in your system may be labeled either as "PrtScn", "Prnt Scrn", "Print Scr" or may say "Print Screen". On most desktop keyboards, the button is usually found between F12 and Scroll Lock:

Note: You will not receive any confirmation that the screenshot has been taken.

If you want to take a screenshot of one screen but you have multiple, hold down the Control, Alt and Print Screen buttons at the same time:

Then, open Microsoft Paint and redact any personal information about your Clients, Properties or Tenancies.

Pasting a Screenshot from your Keyboard
After information has been redacted, copy the image and paste (Ctrl V) it in an email with an explanation the problem you're having and send to Chintaro Support: support@chintaro.com.au.

IMPORTANT: Redacting or removing Personal Information regarding Clients, Tenants and Properties

MDB Consulting takes the privacy and confidentiality of your Clients and Properties very seriously.

When you send a screenshot to support via email, we ask that you please redact or remove any personal information about your Clients, Tenants and Properties. This is particularly important when sending screenshots with confidential Client or Property information:

Client Screen

  • Given Name
  • Surname
  • Known As Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Related Tenants
  • Address, City, State, Postcode
  • Postal Address, Postal City, Postal State, Postal Postcode
  • Contact Phone numbers
  • Email Address

Property Screen:

  • Property Name
  • Address
  • Tenant's Names (in Room section)

Tenancy Screen:

PLEASE NOTE: Other screens such as Maintenance Tasks will have Client and Property information (Property Name, Tenant Names) that we ask you remove. This also applies to Finance screenshots, such as Tenancy Balances.

If you cannot redact the information of a screenshot, please arrange a Teams Meeting with a Chintaro Support team member.
