Chintaro Cloud includes 3 Microsoft applications that you can access in the Parallels Client which are Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook. Your Organisation will also have access to your data folder (where your Chintaro databases and Templates folder is kept).
- Accessing your Microsoft Office Applications in Parallels Client
- Saving a document/spreadsheet from the Parallels Client
- Accessing your Data Folder from the Parallels Client
Accessing your Microsoft Office Applications in Parallels Client
Log in to your Parallels Client (see Solution: Logging in to Parallels).
Once you have logged in, you will see several apps available to you:
To access any application, double-click on the application you would like to access.
NOTE: If you are using a WIFI network, you may get a security message when accessing an application:
Click Allow Access to skip past this message. Parallels will connect to the application:
Once the application is connected, the application will open.
Saving a document/spreadsheet from the Parallels Client
When you are ready to save your Word Document or Excel Spreadsheet, click Save As. You are able to save your document/spreadsheet to a number of places.
If you want to save the document/spreadsheet to your PC's C:\ Drive, click on the 'This PC\C Drive' (as highlighted blue below) and navigate to the location you would like to save the document:
NOTE: If you want to access the document without having to log in to the Parallels Client, you will want to save it to your PC's local drives.
If you want to save the document to the Cloud, (EG your Organisation's Data folder), click on the U Drive:
Your Organisation's folder will be named Corgname (with the letter c leading your Organisation's acronym).
Once in your Organisation's folder, you will have several subfolders. You will see your client folder (where your code database, Chintaro icon and Chintaro shortcut is kept) and a Data folder.
Saving a document to your client folder (EG example01) is like saving a document to your C Drive, but it is only accessible when you are in the Parallels Client application. Saving a document to the Data folder is like saving a file to your data folder on a server, but again, it is only accessible from the Parallels Client:
NOTE: If the document you have created is a template to be used in Word Merges from Chintaro, you will need to change the file type to a .dot or .dotx file type, and save it in your Orgname\Data\Templates folder.
When you have found the file path that you would like to save the document, save it as normal.
Accessing your Data Folder from the Parallels Client
To access your U Drive or Data folder from the Parallels Client, double-click on the Windows Explorer icon:
Parallels will connect to your Windows Explorer. Click on the U Drive:
Your Organisation's folder will be named CORGNAME with the letter c leading your Organisation's acronym. Your Organisation's folder will contain two subfolders:
Once in your Organisation's folder, you will have a number of subfolders. You will see several client folders (where your code databases, Chintaro icon and Chintaro shortcut is kept) and a Data folder. To access the Data folder, double click on Data to see the contents of your Data folder:
