Word Merges are documents that are created from within Chintaro. They are based on a Microsoft Word Template that links to a text file with fields from Chintaro.


Creating an Individual Tenancy Word Merge


If you would like to create an Individual Word Merge for a Tenant, from the Home Screen click Tenancies, then Manage Tenancies. This will open the Tenancy Search Screen:


Click on the row of the Tenant you want to create a Word Merge for so the row is highlighted (blue):


Clicking the Word Merge button at the top of the screen will open the Tenancy Word Merge pop up box. The Word Merge pop up appears. The default for the Word Merge pop up is set to 'Use Tenancy Word Merge Templates (Default)'.



To create a Tenancy Word Merge for your Tenant, select the Template from the 'Select The Tenancy Template' box. The Create Client Note field may be ticked, but you can untick this box if you don't want to create a Client Note with the contents of the Word Merge:



Click 'Word Merge Tenancy' and Microsoft Word will open with the merged fields from Chintaro. The document you merged is based on a Microsoft Word Template that has been set up in your Chintaro\Data\Templates folder on your network. Click this Solution to see how to Set Up Word Merges:



If you had the Create Client Note box ticked, a Client Note will be created with the contents of the letter. Back in Chintaro, to view the Client Note, click 'Exit' to close the Word Merge pop up, and double click on the Tenant's row to open their Tenancy Screen. The Word Merge template will show as the Note Title, and double clicking on the Note will open the Note showing the details of the letter:


Creating an Individual Arrears Word Merge


If you would like to create an Individual Word Merge for a Tenant, from the Home Screen click Tenancies, then Manage Tenancies. This will open the Tenancy Search Screen.


Click on the row of the Tenant you want to create a Word Merge for so the row is highlighted (blue):


Clicking the Word Merge button at the top of the screen will open the Tenancy Word Merge pop up box. To view the Arrears Templates, click 'Use Arrears Word Merge Templates':


The Templates will change to the Arrears templates. These are the same Templates that are in the Arrears Management screen of Chintaro (Home Screen> Tenancies> Arrears Management). To create an Arrears Word Merge for your Tenant, select the Template from the 'Select The Tenancy Template' box. The Create Client Note field may be ticked, but you can untick this box if you don't want to create a Client Note with the contents of the Word Merge:


Click 'Word Merge Arrears' and Microsoft Word will open with the merged fields from Chintaro. The document you merged is based on a Microsoft Word Template that has been set up in your Chintaro\Data\Templates folder on your network. Click this Solution to see how to Set Up Word Merges:
