If you click on the Rent Paid To date on a Tenancy screen and it is showing a strange date, it is because the rent charges in the Tenancy Transactions ledger do not match what is in the Rent Record of the Tenancy.
The Rent Paid To date button works by checking the charges made to the Tenant in the Tenancy Transactions ledger against what is recorded in the Rent Record.
To view the Rent Record, click on the Edit Rent button of the Tenancy screen:
This will display the Rent Record of the Room. The dates in the Rent Record should never overlap and you should be able to clearly see when one rent period ended and the next started.
If there are dates that overlap in the Rent Record, this can cause an issue with the calculation of the Rent Paid To Date as it cant calculate for duplicate dates.
If you have Tenants whose Rent Paid To Date is incorrect, you can go though the charges in the Tenancy Transactions ledger, compared to what is in the Rent Record. If there is a discrepancy, you need to work out which one is correct (rent charges in Tenancy Transactions or Rent Charges in Rent Record).
