Applying Filters and Selections

This section details the different ways you can apply filters and selections in Chintaro Insights.

Setting the reporting period

Before you begin analysing the data within Chintaro Insights, it's recommended that you apply dates filters to the screen to ensure that the data you're viewing is showing the data for the reporting period you wish to view.

Clicking the Default button will set the dates for the entirety of Chintaro Insights to the last financial year.

If you want to change these dates, drop the arrow down and enter the dates we want to apply in the date boxes  (Note: you can also manually select the dates by clicking them in the calendar view).

You can also use the options provided to filter the screen by certain dates, such as the last 7 days, last 30 days, last month and so on. Click the option you wish to apply that date filter:

Once the dates are set to the preferred reporting period, you can begin to navigate around.

Filtering

Other filters that can be applied to the screen appear on the left, and include:

- Program

- Tenancy Manager

- Site Name, used to separate out one database from others (this is useful if you have more than one database, but all of the data is combined in Chintaro Insights).

Clicking on the filter name will pop up a box that allows you to set the filter for that option, and once a filter is applied it will remain for all screens until it is removed:

Remove a filter completely by clicking the box with the little x in the corner:

Using the visualisations to apply Selections

Chintaro Insights is built on a Qlik*Sense platform, where clicking on sections of the visualisation changes the view of the screen and applies filters or selections to change the view. Each heading, graph and number on the screen can be viewed in greater detail simply by clicking on it.

Clicking on a section within a visualisation will apply a selection to the screen. For example, in the Arrears visualisation, to separate out one month and only view data relating to the transactions of that month, clicking the month will highlight and add the selection on the left hand side. Once you're happy with the selection(s), clicking the green tick to apply the selection:

Selections appear on the left, and you can have one or more selections applied at any given time. To remove a Selection, click the red X of the Selection you wish to remove:

Selections can be made to as many visualisations as you wish and can be made for multiple options within that set (EG multiple Programs/Multiple Tenancy Managers).

Each visualisation is different, and has different ways to filter, for example,

Pie chart
  • Clicking portion of pie to single out one section
  • Clicking several portions of pie to filter by multiple sections
  • Lasso tool in options to draw section of selection required
Bar Graph
  • Clicking option in graph to single out one section

Line Graph

There are 3 main ways to get around Chintaro Insights:

1. Clicking on the different reporting view will break out the reporting screen to another tab, so you can view the metrics for tat report in another screen

2. Using the Home Screen > Main Menu. The Main Menu is separated out into sections that contain the data and visualisations for each component. Select the option you wish to view, then click Analysis to see that screen:

3. Clicking on a heading of a visualisation will take you to that section, the same as if you had clicked the option in the main menu. EG Clicking Tenancy in the visualisation  on the main page opens the same Tenancy screen from the Main Menu:

When you are in a specific section (EG Tenancy), there will be a new set of totals at the top, as well as a new set of visualisations on the main section of the page, all relating to that section in this reporting period.

To analyse the data on the screen in further detail, click within the visualizations themselves to apply selections.
